This Wednesday night, Feb. 6, at 7:00, at the Orem Public Library, we will have a staged reading of my play Mess of Pottage. Admission is free.
The next Sunstone will publish “The Roots of my Faith,” a testimony of my childhood and my own spiritual journey. It’s in their next issue, not sure when it will be out, but soon.
Mormons and Popular Culture, edited by J. Michael Hunter, has now been published. Here’s the Amazon link. My essay, a history of Mormon drama, is in volume one.
Also, this weekend, I’ll have a reading of my new play, tentatively titled Clearing Bombs, which Plan B Theatre in Salt Lake is interested in. It’s about the economists John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich Hayek, and a night they spent on the roof of King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, during the Blitz.
Meanwhile, my play and film reviews continue to appear in Provo Orem Word, an awesome on-line magazine that’s worth reading even without my small contributions to it. It’s at http://www.provooremword.org/
I accompanied in your father’s voice studio at IU. He was a very good man (but a really mean Scarpia!). How is he? I didn’t know at the time that he was a Mormon (at the time, I wasn’t).
